At QCYG co, we’ve got some exciting news! Since we launched the business we’ve always made our cornhole boards from 3/4 pine plywood and more recently, an imported birch plywood. We’ve sold thousands of sets like this in almost 4 years. Approximately 1.5 years ago we upped our game and began building tournament style boards with a better quality birch or Baltic birch deck with a 3/4 inch poplar frame. These boards are all pocket hole screwed together with no visible holes in the decks. Some sets even have cross bracing between the legs and below the center of the deck. These boards are built to tournament specifications and offer a stronger frame but also lighter at the same time. Due to material and labor costs, these boards are priced at a premium over our standard boards.
Over the last few months, we’ve worked with a new supplier to get our material costs down and we’ll now be able to produce these tournament quality boards for a much smaller price premium over the standard boards. To simplify our manufacturing processes we plan to eliminate our standard boards to focus on tournament boards and have one build standard. These will be available with two different grades of baltic birch plywood. See the chart for a comparison.
Pricing will be announced soon but in the meantime we have over 200 finished boards and 150 unfinished standard boards that need to be sold to make room for the a big shipment of new materials. If you’re looking for boards, now is the time. We’ll be discounting all standard vinyl wrapped board sets $25 and even better discounts for multiple quantities. Plain boards sets are $80 or $95 with corn bags. These will be discounted as well for 2+ sets. Discount based on quantity purchased.
